5 Lucres Profile Mistakes Costing You Job Opportunities
Hello from your favourite work bestie!
Can I be honest with you for a second?
Your dream job might have scrolled past your LinkedIn profile three times this week…
Shocked, right?
Why is this? That’s because most of us set up our Lucres profile once, hit “save,” and forget about it.
Meanwhile, recruiters are searching for candidates RIGHT NOW, and they’re not finding you.
I spent the last week analyzing dozens of Lucres profiles (including some from our community), and I keep seeing the same 5 mistakes over and over.
The good news? Every single one takes less than 5 minutes to fix.
Let’s get started.
Why Your Lucres Profile Actually Matters (More Than You Think).
Before we jump into the fixes, let’s talk about why profile optimization on Lucres is absolutely crucial for your job search success:
The numbers don’t lie:
87% of recruiters use professional networking platforms to find candidates.
Optimized profiles receive 3x more profile views than incomplete ones.
Recruiters spend an average of 6 seconds scanning profiles before deciding.
Lucres’ search algorithm prioritizes complete, active profiles.
Translation? A weak profile means you’re losing opportunities to people who aren’t even more qualified than you, but they just have better profiles.
Let’s change that now!
5 Lucres Profile Mistakes Costing You Job Opportunities.
In this guide, you’ll learn exactly how to optimize your Lucres profile for maximum recruiter visibility and land more job interviews.
Mistake #1: Your Headline Just Says Your Job Title
Look, I get it.
When you’re setting up your profile, “Content Writer” or “Software Developer” feels like enough.
But here’s what happens: Recruiters search for “React developer” and get 847 results. They’re not reading through all 847 profiles. They’re scanning headlines, and yours needs to make them stop scrolling.
What most people do:
“Content Writer”
“Marketing Professional”
“Looking for Opportunities”
This is a big NO NO. You blend into a sea of identical profiles. Recruiters literally can’t tell you apart from anyone else.
Use this formula instead: [Your Role] | [Your Specialty] | [The Result You Deliver].
Here are some examples for you;
Instead of: “Software Developer”
Try: “Full Stack Developer | React & Node.js | Building Products Users Actually Love”
Instead of: “Marketing Professional”
Try: “Digital Marketer | SEO & Content | Helping Brands Get Found by Their Dream Customers”
Instead of: “HR Executive”
Try: “HR Professional | Talent Acquisition | Connecting Fast-Growing Startups with A+ Players”
See the difference? The first tells them WHAT you are. The second tells them WHY they should care.
Now go to your Lucres profile right now. Click edit on your headline. Rewrite it using that formula.
I’ll wait.
Done? Good.
Let’s keep going.
Mistake #2: No Profile Photo.
Profiles with photos get 14 times more views than those without.
Fourteen. Times.
But it’s not just about having ANY photo. I’ve seen profiles with:
Group photos (which person are you?!)
Heavily filtered selfies that look nothing like the real person.
Blurry pics from 2015.
Photos where you’re wearing sunglasses (mysterious, but not helpful).
Party/vacation shots (fun, but not professional).
What recruiters actually want to see:
A clear view of your face (you’re smiling, right?).
Professional clothing (doesn’t have to be formal, just appropriate).
Plain background (no distractions).
Recent photo (from last year).
Good lighting (you’re not a shadow person).
Don’t have a professional photoshoot? No problem.
Here’s the DIY version that works:
Use your phone’s portrait mode.
Stand near a window in the morning (natural light = magic), Plain wall behind you.
Wear what you’d wear to an interview.
Ask a friend (or use a tripod) to take 20-30 shots.
Pick the one where you look most approachable.
The whole thing takes less than 15 minutes. And it could be the difference between getting that interview call or not.
Mistake #3: Your “About Me” Section Sounds Like Everyone Else’s.
Okay, confession time. How many of you wrote something like this:
“I am a hardworking and dedicated professional with experience in [field]. I am passionate about learning and growing in my career. Looking for opportunities where I can contribute my skills...”
If recruiters had a drinking game for every time they read that exact paragraph, they’d be unconscious by noon.
Here’s the problem: Generic = forgettable. And forgettable = no callbacks.
What to do instead:
Think of your About Me section like you’re answering these questions at a coffee chat:
What do you actually DO?
What have you accomplished that you’re proud of?
What kind of opportunity are you looking for?
Let me show you the difference:
❌ Generic version: “I am a dedicated marketing professional with experience in digital marketing. I am passionate about helping brands grow and am looking for opportunities to contribute my skills.”
✅ Version that gets responses:
“I help B2B SaaS companies turn their blogs into lead generation machines. In my last role, I grew organic traffic from 5K to 50K monthly visitors in 8 months.
That traffic generated 200+ qualified leads and ₹15 lakhs in revenue. My secret? I treat every blog post like a sales conversation, not just content for content’s sake.
Right now, I’m looking for a content marketing role with a growth-stage startup that sees content as a revenue driver. If you’re tired of blog posts that get traffic but zero conversions, let’s talk.”
See what happened there?
Started with what I DO (specific value).
Showed real results (numbers!).
Wrote like a human, not a robot.
Ended with what I’m looking for.
Invited conversation.
Your turn: Open your About Me section. Delete the generic stuff. Write with these 3 bullet points:
What do you do better than most people?
One result you’re proud of (with numbers if possible).
What are you looking for next?
Then turn those bullets into 2-3 conversational paragraphs.
Mistake #4: You Haven’t Touched Lucres’ Resume Builder (Big Mistake)
Alright, Most people don’t even know Lucres has a built-in resume builder.
But here’s why this matters: When recruiters search for candidates, Lucres prioritizes complete profiles. And guess what counts as “complete”? A filled-out resume section.
Plus, you can literally download a professional-looking resume right from your profile. How cool is that?
What to fill out in your Resume section:
Professional Summary (your elevator pitch).
Employment History (with specific achievements, not just duties).
Skills (Lucres even suggests skills based on your location!).
Education (degree, institution, dates).
Achievements (awards, recognitions, milestones).
Projects (especially if you’re a developer, designer, or writer).
Languages (more languages = more opportunities).
When filling out your Employment History, don’t just list what you DID. List what you ACHIEVED.
Bad: “Managed social media accounts.”
Good: “Grew Instagram following from 2K to 25K in 6 months, resulting in 40% increase in website traffic.”
Bad: “Responsible for customer support.”
Good: “Improved customer satisfaction score from 3.2 to 4.7 by implementing new response protocols.”
See the difference? Results > responsibilities.
Bonus feature: Lucres has PRO templates you can use to make your resume look extra polished. If you’re serious about job hunting, it’s worth checking out.
Mistake #5: You’re Not Using the Repost Feature (Free Money on the Table!)
Here’s something most Lucres users don’t realize:
You can earn money just by sharing job postings.
Yes, really.
Here’s how it works:
You see a job posting in your field
You click “Repost” and share it with your network
Someone from your network applies and gets hired
You get paid a referral reward
But even if earning money isn’t your main goal, reposting has another HUGE benefit:
Active users get prioritized in recruiter searches.
When you regularly repost relevant jobs, Lucres’ algorithm sees you as an engaged user and shows your profile more often in search results.
How to repost strategically (not spammy):
Do this:
Repost 2-3 jobs per week (consistency > volume).
Pick jobs in YOUR niche (builds your reputation as an industry connector).
Add a personal note: “This would be perfect for someone with Python experience in fintech.”
Tag friends who might be interested (they’ll appreciate it!).
Don’t do this:
Repost 15 jobs in one day (you’ll look desperate/spammy).
Share jobs completely outside your field.
Just hit “share” without adding context.
Repost competitor jobs if you’re currently employed (awkward!).
Why this matters for YOUR job search:
When recruiters see you’re actively helping others find opportunities, they see you as:
Well-connected in your industry.
Generous and community-minded.
Someone who understands the job market.
All of that makes you MORE attractive as a candidate.
Plus, the people you help land jobs? They remember that. And they might just refer YOU to their next company.
